Not to pray, not to dream.

Just to count the bills.

 

There, frozen, mesmerized by the rain of money,

Scrooge forgets the essential:

The world moves on.

And so does a car.

 

Money falls.

Danger approaches.

But he sees nothing.

His gaze is fixed on what shines,

not on what vibrates.

 

This painting, it’s us sometimes.

Chasing after "more,"

we forget "now."

We risk ending up crushed

under the weight of our own obsessions.
